The Greeks founded the city and they named it Neapolis, which means "the new city" in the middle of the 6th and the 7th centuries B.C. UNESCO has made Naples the World Heritage Site because of its historical importance and its cosmic arty inheritance. Naples is the largest historical center in the world having as many as 448 colossal churches and castles, which is more than any other city. The Naples Gulf and Mount Vesuvius represents the power of Italy.
